Christmas sessions at Little Yellow Boots in York

Here they are! Christmas photoshoots are now available to book!

This year we have something a little different, there are not 1, not 2, but THREE beautiful Christmas sets, and you can choose your favourite to have festive portraits taken with. These will be spread across two weeks in November.

Week 1 (commencing 1st November) will include the ‘Hot Cocoa Bar’ festive backdrop plus the ‘Natural Christmas’ set.

Week 2 (commencing 8th November) will include the ‘Lanterns in the Snow’ festive backdrop plus the ‘Natural Christmas’ set.

The ‘Hot Cocoa Bar’ is the larger of the two backdrops, this is suitable for all ages but is your best option for multiple older children and family photos due to being a very large backdrop.

The 'Lanterns in the Snow’ is slightly smaller and is suitable for up to 3 young children but not quite big enough for families.

The ‘Natural Christmas’ set is a beautifully clean, crisp and neutral real set, with a sprinkling of Christmas foliage and a dash of sparkle, giving you images that could be displayed all year round, and perfect for updating those natural family portraits! As always, a selection of Christmas props will be available to use during the session, these will feature favourites from previous years plus new items nearer the time. Props are sanitised between sessions.

To book in, a £25 session fee is due at the time of booking to secure your chosen time slot. This covers the session time plus editing of your beautiful images (between 10-20 images).

Packages available after viewing your images;

Package 1 - £99 - 4 digital images

Package 2 - £149 - 8 digital images

Package 3 - £199 - All of your digital images PLUS a selection of printed images

Here are some F.A.Q’s

What should we wear?

-Christmas clothing ALWAYS works well, these can include Christmas jumpers, red or green tartan, gold/sparkle, Christmas pyjamas...etc.

-For the ‘Natural Christmas’ set you can stick with the above, or you can bring something more neutral; cream/white/beige…. pastel colours… earthy tones like green/cappucino.. denim always tends to go with anything.

-Please see the colour palette below and if you are unsure of what might work, please do not hesitate to get in touch to discuss outfit ideas!

What should we bring?

-Outfits are your main priority. Please come dressed in outfits to maximise session time as I will have clients booked in back-to-back and we don’t want to eat into your time on the backdrops with too much changing.

-A drink for little ones should they need it (I do have bottled water available but some children prefer specific bottles or juice/milk etc)

-A favourite teddy if we need to bring it out as a comfort during the session.

Where will the session be taking place?

-At my beautiful Photo Studio in Acomb, York. Please note I am located on the first floor in my building so bear this in mind to try and leave pushchairs in the car, usually I can accommodate a pushchair in my studio but Christmas takes up the whole space and we cannot leave pushchairs in communal areas. If you have no choice but to bring a pushchair please notify me in advance and I will try to make space prior to your arrival.

When will my images be ready?

-Galleries will be edited and sent within 1-2 weeks of your session, so you can rest assured that you can view and purchase your favourite images to gift/print well in advance of Christmas. You will be contacted when your viewing gallery is ready, you can then choose a date and time to activate it, and from that point you have 1 day to view and make your selections.

How can I book?

Can more than one family visit at the same time?

-Please contact me before booking if you wish to have cousins photographed together, it will depend on how many children there are and ages as to wether you can come to one slot or if you need to book two back-to-back, this will be at my discretion.

Top tips to prepare for your session;

-Plan ahead, know your journey time and please try your best to arrive on time. Arriving early may mean you need to wait outside if the previous client is still in the studio. Arriving late will impact what time we have for your session and I will have someone booked in after you.

-Preferably arrive in your outfits, or at least in your first outfit if you are bringing a change of clothes.

-Feed children before the session, full bellies means happier children rather than feeling hungry and grumpy!

-Ensure everyone is groomed to your liking before your session, this includes wiping faces after their last meal, cleaning fingernails, doing hair beforehand etc, wipes will be available for any runny noses during the session (a common occurrence this time of year!)

-Sometimes a little bribery is beneficial to encourage those last smiles and ensure focus through the session, so feel free to bring along anything you deem suitable but if it is edible (e.g sweets/chocolate) please wait until you have exited the studio to open them to leave me with a quicker clean-up before the next client arrives.

As always with the full sessions, an image will be taken to create my most popular ‘Waiting for Santa’ Christmas window digital backdrop. PLEASE NOTE - This year, to ensure galleries are sent out ASAP, the digital window scene will not be edited in full for your viewing gallery, it will be part-edited and only receive full editing should you wish to choose this image and the package balance has been paid.

If you wish to book onto my digital-only mini session that includes ONLY the ‘Waiting for Santa’ window scene, please contact me here to be added to the wait list, these sessions will be released at a slightly later date and last around 5-10 minutes.
